A big crane for a big job!

A big crane for a big job!

When lifting and precisely fitting heavy narcelles and 30 metre blades to the top of 80 metre tower requires a massive crane.

In Asia, the biggest crane is a Liebherr. The Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 1200 tonne truck-mounted crane is the strongest telescopic crane, with the longest telescopic boom in the world.

The eight-part boom is fully automated and extends to and is fixed at the required length. Active, speed-dependent, rear-axle steering (developed by Liebherr), is integrated into a nine-axle chassis and thirty six tyres spread the immense weight when travelling betweeen sites.

Hanas utilised the considerable capability of this crane when erecting twenty wind towers in one of its first wind farms in Ningxia province.

The towers are the first of four hundred which Hanas has scheduled for construction , over the next five years.

Hanas signed a maintenance agreement for 600MW wind turbines with Vestas
